Reading Robin Carstairs always reminds me of the little girl sticking her fingers in her ears while babbling “I cant hear you- nanny, nanny, nanny”. The Kaiser Foundation, a liberal institution, reports that of 45 million uninsured, 15 million are here illegally, 15 million make $50,000 or more annually and choose not to have insurance, and up to10 million are eligible for free or substantially subsidized insurance, but choose not to pursue their options. Nearly half of all health care dollars are spent by the government, with nearly one in three dollars being squandered to fraud and waste. These facts are indisputable and readily available. So why does not Mrs. Carstairs and the rest of the fascist movement take one finger out of one ear, while keeping the other in the other ear, in hopes that some of the “facts” will be retained. At a 45% tax rate, too many of my earned dollars are being confiscated by the government in the name of “reform”. We do not need to reform health care. We need to remove the obstacles that are impeding the ability of free market to do what it does best when unencumbered. Anyone who believes the nonsense that Republicans put profits over people, would need to discount that of the top twenty campaign contributors (collectively) seventeen are to the Democratic party. The three largest contributors to the Democratic party: Unions, Lawyers, and yes WALL STREET! And if Republicans put money over people, why did the Democrats just vote along party lines to deny the importation of pharmaceutical drugs at substantially discounted prices while accepting $400 million from the American Pharmaceutical companies? Simply, placing profits over people is evident in the hundreds of billions in medical litigation awards annually, or free medical care to 15 million illegal aliens, or could it be the $120 billion in medicare fraud as reported by the CBO? AND DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT! The Idealism of free medial care is absolutely a phenomenal concept desired by every person, irrespective of party affiliation. However, the truth is that when it is free, it is abused, and when it is someone else’s money, it is abused. Free does not work. It never has and never will. The cost is too high and will break the backs of those in the minority who are paying the price for this “Free” dom.
