For far too long, the homeowner has been portrayed as the victim.  Allow me to correct myself, it is the  delinquent homeowner who has been used a tool by the left to demonstrate the gravity of our current economy.  This is so far from the truth and extortion of reality, it is difficult to believe that anyone who really considers the message, would actually believe it.  Unless, of course, you are a delinquent homeowner.

Setting the record straight, anyone losing their home, should lose their home.  These homebuyers purchased homes that they could not afford.  Bigger homes than they needed or could afford.  These delinquent homeowners secured secondary financing to buy expensive cars, boats, toys and other recreational vehicles, treating their home as a bottomless  piggy-bank.  These delinquent homeowners signed loan documents which clearly articulated, in very bold and clear language, that must be singed by the borrowers, that the loan is adjustable.  That the payments will increase.  So now, we are told by the democratic candidates that the home foreclosures are the cause of the failure of President Bush’s economic policy(ies), and that all delinquent homeowners should be absolved from their responsibilities of meeting the conditions of the loan.  They further go on to say that the feds need to extend food stamps and unemployment benefits to help those in the greatest need.  Policies that reek of socialism, and furthering the grip of big brother over the helpless.  Where were these advocates when their constituents were rolling the dice and living the good life, driving big new cars, and living above their means.  I cannot recall one warning from the left admonishing the people to save for the rainy day, or to live within their means.  Instead, it was a message that said “Go for it”  “You deserve whatever you want, and most certainly what your neighbor has”.  No, as usual, the  left are reactionary and failed once again to take preemptive measures.  But then again, that is not the way the left works.  They simple lure the people in with the idea that rights come before responsibilities; privilege comes before dedication and discipline; a message  where someone else is always to blame for their self inflicted wounds.  So let us punish the tobacco companies with billion dollar lawsuits,  demonize car companies for global warming and blame television for our lack of parenting.  The latest ploy by the left, to assign the blame of home foreclosures on President Bush, simply lulls the gullible into the same trap of believing that   they were forced to do what they otherwise, in the right frame of mind, would not have done in the first place.   So now that they have done it, they want to placated into believing their own lies, that is  our fault and not their own.
