Obama wouldn't have any trouble getting a security clearance. I should know, because I had a top secret level clearance while I worked for the #3 defense contractor in America. Getting a clearance can be a long, drawn out process. The first thing that you do is fill out a SF86. This standard form asks about your past, where you've lived, where you've worked, and yes who you know. It also delves into your credit. Once you've filled out the form, DSS or the Defense Security Service starts an investigation. At the mid point of he investigation, if they haven't found anything alarming, the Office of Personnel Management will grant you a interim clearance. If they do find something out, then they'll schedule and interview and ask you about it. You can bet your ass that they already know the answers to the questions that they are going to ask you. Its about honesty. Trust me on this, "That One" has already been through the process, or else he wouldn't have gotten this far.
