I have an eight year old daughter and I am determined she will not join the ranks of the lazy adults who tolerate being spoon fed the news when they know that "spin masters" will only feed you what they want you to eat!!!! CRAP!!! You're right this concept is mirrors some socialist views, but so does our entire TAX CODE!!! Before there was a Barack Obama some people paid more taxes than others. Do you realize that unless your income reaches a certain threshold, the federal government does not even request income taxes from you. As a student I was known as TAX EXEMPT because of this... but, I still attended a public university (was it for free... NO, but it wasn't my INCOME TAX that paid for it). The poorest among us benefit from programs such as Medicaid, libraries, law enforcement, education, safe roads and bridges, all because of TAXES!!! Do you cry SOCIALISM when you see elderly people accepting medicaid to pay bills? The reality is there are many programs many of us are blessed to NEVER access that are supported by our federal dollars!!! That's not socialism, that's simply put a means to pay for the needs of our communities at large. It's a system that was set up many moons ago that have nothing to do with either of the Senators. For all of you Christians out there who (like me) give a minimum of 10% of my income to my church, is that socialism??? That is a JUDEO-Christian plan that says everyone should give their portion.l.. guess what? 10% for the man who makes 50,000 is 5,000... while for the income at 1,000,000 is $100,000. God must be a socialist!!! I digress... back to the point... Based on the premise that Sen McCain and Gov. Palin (and the rest of the Foxx NEWS family) have fed to the masses.... SEN MCCain is a Socialist b/c he wants to increase the tax deduction for children... (for those of us who make the same amount of money as those who decided to have a large family) why is that the family that uses the most resources... pays less than the family who uses the least!!!!.. that's called SOCIALISM (or is it?)... .AND GOV Palin took socialism a step further... she took OIL CO profits and passed it on to the residents of Alaska... WHY... just b/c they were residents of Alaska!!!! Did they contribute to the Research and Development of the Oil Co... did they work at the company? NO. The state made a profit off of the OIL CO and in exchange for allowing the work to be done EVERYONE got paid!!! yep, she made sure the wealth was spread to ALL alaskans!!!
