2.5 million Iraqis are now refugees

at least 200,000 Iraqis are dead. Possibly 500,000.

Obama knew it was a bad idea.

    McCain supported the war wholeheartedly.

Iraq was no more a threat to the U.S. than Burma. Are you afraid of Burma?

McCain puts soldiers at risk not to protect the country but to increase the power of rich old men.

For all those truly open minded people thinking of voting for Obama watch “Barack Obama Economic Disaster Report Acorn” (in 5 parts). It is a legitimate, factual, and historical look at the mortgage crisis without all the drama of the “other” network news shows. You will see the candidate that supports systems like this that literally set up the middle class to take the fall.

I would remind you that The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (non-partisan) scored McCain “D” on his voting record and Obama “B”. Being “like you” is just not enough. Did you also believe that George W Bush would lead courageously and carefully? You can argue about how “free” the world is but the 10 trillion dollar deficit and worldwide economic recession are pretty objective evidence that it is not more prosperous after 8 years. How good do you think your judgement of leaders is?

How sadly misinformed you are. I feel you pain and hurt. But we are in Iraq for oil money. We had the opportunity to capture Bin Laden and the
Military was directed not to go to capture him. Saddin Hussein had nothing
to do with 9/11 and unfortunately your husband is fighting a worthless battle that has injured and kill Americans and Iraqis all so Bush/Cheney and
cronies could get richer. I hope you decide to find out the facts so you can have a fair evaluation of the the actual situation. I hope your husband comes home safe and sound. I also wish you and your husband start asking question to find out the facts.

She has apparently been brainwashed to believe that war heroes make the best presidents, because she has nothing else to say other than that she loves her children, worries about her husband, and wants America protected.

Contrary to utipian beliefs, we cannot wish the dangers of the world to go away- And what happens there- will most certainly affect us here- We must understand that the extremists would never be happy with us just leaving them alone- they are committed to destroying anyone who does not share their ideological beleifs-

The fact is that we went into Iraq for a number of reasons, one was to prevent Saddam Hussein from manufacturing a nuclear weapon and further manufacturing weapons of mass destruction- Numerous sources have evidenced that he was in fact making every attempt to do so- Additionally, numerous sources as cited inteh terrorist seciton of this web site- cite specific evidence that Saddam Hussein was in fact supporting terrorism and Al Quda- this is irrefutable

If you think oil prices are high now- what would they be if Saddam attacked his neghbors and interupted the world oil supply?
Further, with Iran barking loudly with threats to eliminate Israel fromt he face of the earth- what better position for our military than to be right next door- I guess tha Iran has not done much to effect their threats so perhaps our presence is working-
We cannot afford an isolationist policy that dictates that it is “Their problem”

Brainwashed- the free world owes it’s liberties to the heroes like this woman’s husband- men and women who are willing to commit their lives for a higher cause -
There are bad people in the owrld determined to exterminate all of those who do not enbrace their philosphy- killing authors over books and cartoons- bombing innocent women and children-
A hero, all day, every day -

Still brainwashed, bud. Just because her husband is a soldier does not give you the right or her the right to politic from his bravery. That’s called exploitation. If she is an ignorant person, she’s an ignorant person. Simple as that. I don’t care if her husband is a soldier, or even a war hero. If she can’t make a coherent argument in favor of her political postion other than saying “my husband is in Iraq defending the country” over and over again, then she should be derided for what she is: ignorant.

    @ Dan:

Do you not realize that our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan only spurs more hatred and aggression against Americans and our future generations? Do you think the deaths of countless innocents makes the USA a safer place?

When Saddam invaded Kuwait and we went to war, we had the world’s backing because it was a just cause, just like WWII was just. We aided in stabilizing the region, global economic markets, and prevented the oppression of a weaker nation. Of course, our interests in oil were a factor.

Yes, Saddam supported terrorism, but our unilateral invasion of Iraq under a false premise of WMD was nonsense. Iran, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Lebanon… do they not support terrorists?

The desire to install a like-minded government in the region was our purpose. It was the aggression of Iraq towards Kuwait led us into Iraq, initially. Years later, our aggression towards Iraq (with the tragedy of 9/11 as a crutch) is not far different than Saddam Hussein’s actions in Kuwait. Then we go and chastise (and rightfully so) Russia for their actions in Georgia. But our voice is lost because we don’t have a leg to stand on!

Bush/Cheney did nothing for our country but everything for their personal interests. While I agree we need to curb the production of nuclear weapons in unstable regions, how do we pick and choose who to war with and who to negotiate?? North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan…. it’s only going worsen as other nations and technology evolve.. Does that mean we war with everyone? Where does it end??

I am honored to have three brothers who have served in our Armed Forces, but I refuse to back an old warmongering “maverick” and his clueless sidekick. The fact that an individual served in the military, while honorable, does not imply competency for our Presidency. What qualifications was Palin selected for? Her greatest asset to the GOP is her gender??? Come on.. the nomination couldn’t have gone to someone more qualified? I’m sorry but “Drill, baby, drill” and “Joe Six-Pack” aren’t going to sell me.

I am saddened to see our brave, proud troops’ blood spilled for nothing. For a war without end, that does more harm than good.

Obama has the reason and intelligence to salvage our Foreign relations, end this senseless violence and bring America back to being the envy of the world. McCain looks like a desperate car salesmen with a whole bunch of generalizations. Did you watch a single debate?

I hope this woman’s husband comes home safe and can see those first steps, hear those first words, and be there at home with his wife and family where he belongs. Instead, he sits in the desert not knowing who is innocent and who is the enemy… It’s a quagmire.. Vietnam all over again.

How much money have we thrown away? Endless blank check spending with no regulation or oversight… How many good men, women and children dead? What could possibly be worth that?

Obama will be our next President. What scares me is that the polls are even remotely close. Here’s a message to all those Red states out there: He’s black, his middle name is Hussein and his first name rhymes with “Osama”, get over it. We need a strong leader now more than ever.

Waiters and waitresses are becoming nicer and much more caring. I used to pay my check, theyd’ say “Thank you.” That graduated into “Have a nice day.” That’s now escalated into “You care care of yourself, now.” The other day I paid my check – the waiter said, “Don’t put off that mammogram.” (Rita Rudner) :D
