The CRA merely required that banks offer loans to low-income households. It did not stipulate that they HAD to approve them. Therefore, it is the banks and the private companies (50% of the bad loans) who approved the loans faults.

This^ is a horribly written sentence. First, you say “As a Republican”, which means “as a Republican person”. Then you change from “person” to “it”. ITS CAN NOT BE PEOPLE YOU BONEHEAD!

What you should have wrote: “As a Republican, I was disappointed…”
